Affordable Broadband Act - ABA

The Affordable Broadband Act is a New York State law passed in 2025 that requires internet service providers (ISPs) in New York State with at least 20,000 customers to offer reduced-cost plans to qualifying households. 

  • Reduced-cost plans include taxes and equipment fees

  • ISPs, plans, and speeds available depend on where you live

  • Mobile and dial-up internet services are not included
